Graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Law in 2002 and worked as a freelance lawyer for 6 years after graduation.
He served as a Sports Law Lawyer, Disciplinary Inspector and Club Licensing Board Legal Criteria Expert at the Turkish Football Federation between 2009 and 2012.
Since 2012, he has been working as lawyer at Polat Law and Consultancy Office, which he founded in Istanbul, and provides legal consultancy, contract preparation and litigation services before national courts and international sports judicial bodies (FIFA Dispute Resolution Board, CAS, BAT) to professional athletes, clubs and agents in his field of expertise, sports law.
He taught sports law as a lecturer at the Özyeğin University Social Sciences Institute Sports Law Master's Program for six years between the academic years of 2014/2015 and 2020/2021.
Since the 2024/2025 academic year, he has been teaching sports law as a lecturer at Kadir Has University Sports Law Master's Program.
In the 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 academic years, he taught "Sports Law" at Haliç University School of Physical Education and Sports.
He participated in the Sports Law (2006), Sports Management (2007) and Sports Communication (2009) certificate programs organized by Kadir Has University and received a certificate.
He was a member of the Sports Law Commission of the Turkish National Olympic Committee between 2009 and 2022.
He served as a member of the Turkish Sailing Federation Legal Committee between 2014 and 2016.
He has been a member of the Turkish Basketball Federation Representatives Committee since May 2022.
He played basketball professionally in Ülkerspor, Yeşilyurt and TED clubs between 1995 and 2002 and became a national player many times with the Cadets and Youth National Basketball Teams of Türkiye.
He is advanced level in English.
